Writing Prompt 1

Funny Pictures

Standing in front of me at Tesco on Friday evening, at roughly 10:35pm, was a man dressed in black Nike flip flops, and matching black Nike shorts. As we waited to check out, I took the opportunity to look into his basket. Now I would love to know how his night was going to play out, given he had chosen these three items: an individual pot of organic greek yogurt, a box of 24 condoms, and a puncture repair kit.

Make time to write today....

"How we spend our days, is of course, how we spend our life."

- Annie Dillard -

So ignore the dishes on the sideboard, leave the endless to-do list to decay, and most importantly turn off the T.V.

There is no better day than today, to write.

Be a Library Superhero

Comic Book Superheroes

February 5th is the official day of action for the protest to cuts to library services. Theses cuts have been confirmed to see 400 brick and mortar libraries, and 45 mobile libraries close. This number is threatening to be doubled in short order. Just because your library is not already under threat, does not mean it will not be in the near future.

Gloria de Piero has called to attention the lifeline our libraries play for pensioners, mums and toddlers, and the 20% of the population without internet access available in their homes.

The culture minister, Ed Vaizey, is responding to ensuing criticism, stating he will consider the use of statutory powers on a case by case basis.

An online library supporters information and support site, Voices for the Library, can be found at http:www.voicesforthelibrary.org.uk/wordpress.

Parole Parlate Last Night

What an inspirational evening! There was so much talent.

For those that missed the evening here is my first attempt at video posting, and subsequently a peek at the guest Poet who came down from London to perform.
